Butch Gregg
Pastor
of Magnification
Being a native of Ft Payne, Butch Gregg
has been exposed to the musical traditions of this area all his life. He
grew up with the influence of southern gospel music, being a part of both
traveling groups and church choirs. Upon leaving college, Butch spent four
years with Uncle Sam at Fort Bragg, NC. While he was stationed there, God radically changed his life.
It was at that time that Butch began a journey that would challenge him to seek
his purpose for living, as well as his place in the Kingdom of God.
Being placed in a different culture, God
began to stretch and challenge Butch’s view of the God he was seeking. Thankful
for the traditions of his past, he began to have a fresh desire to sing a new
song unto the Lord. As David says in Psalm 33:3, “Sing to Him a new song, play
skillfully with a shout of joy.”
For the past eighteen years, God has
been preparing and shaping Butch for his current role as Pastor of Magnification
at WVCC. It brings him great joy that he has the opportunity to teach and
provide a place of service for those seeking to lead in the area of worship.
Butch has been married for sixteen
years to his wonderful wife, Amy, who joins him in leading the Magnification
Team. Together they have three beautiful children: Corey Beth, Casey Lynn, and
Bo.
